About Lotus

One of the most recognizable names in automotive manufacturing, Lotus has established itself as a premiere, high performance auto manufacturer. Combining the essence of power, performance, and style, the Lotus is certainly one of the most remarkable brands when it comes to creating autos of exceptional quality. The Lotus Engineering Ltd. Was formed by two engineers in London in 1952. The letters A, C, B, and C that are part of the logo are the initials of the company founder, Anthony Colin Bruce Chapman. Starting their first factory in old stables behind the Railway Hotel in North London, the Lotus Group of Companies, which was eventually formed in 1959, focused on Formula One, road cars and customer competition vehicles.

Since 1966, Lotus has been manufacturing their vehicles in a modern factory in Hethel, the site of a former RAF air base. The company actually uses some of the old runway as a test track. As with many manufacturers of high performance vehicles, Lotus underwent a tumultuous time during the 1970s and early 80s. However, new agreements with Toyota and the formation of an American company, Lotus Performance Cars Inc. helped bolster sales and introduced new lines of vehicles into the world market. Today, Lotus is well known for creating such vehicle lines as the Exige, Exige X, Elise, and Evora. Each line of remarkable high performance vehicles represents the best in British engineering along with significant advancements in technology.

Advancement of Carbon Fiber Technology

As with many high performance vehicles, the Lotus has benefited from the addition of Lotus Accessories and Parts in carbon fiber auto custom products. Carbon fiber is a lightweight material that has come into favor over the past decade thanks to the twill weave process. Carbon fiber auto parts are generally twice as strong as their steel counterparts, yet they have less than 1/4th the weight. Here are just some of the different types of carbon fiber parts that are available for the Lotus and other performance vehicles as well; Air Scoop Duct Intake, Air Intake Box Scoop, Side Mirror Covers Shells, Interior Console Dash Panel, Interior Door Panel, Side Door Pillar Panels, Rear Trunk Spoiler Lip, Rear Boot Spoiler Wing, Engine Bay Cover Panels, Rear Bumper Diffuser Lip plus many more. In addition, Lotus aftermarket parts are highly valued as these vehicles are driven and cherished for many years. Many Lotus owners add their own touches to the vehicle, such as pin stripe designs or including optional advances in technology. When it comes to the ultimate in style, performance, speed and power, the Lotus name still stands at the top.

Lotus Exige and Lotus Elise Carbon Fiber

Lotus is one of the most recognizable names in British vehicles, featuring a number of exceptional designs in high performance automobiles. Lotus has distinctive quality, shape and style that are universally recognized.

Two of the more popular Lotus designs are the Exige & Elise which have made a powerful impact on the automotive scene. However, the overall similarities between these vehicles makes it a little difficult to tell them apart, save for the experts. To begin with, what are the Exige & Elise and the differences that make them distinctive?

Lotus Exige

The Exige is a two-door, two seat sports vehicle that has been in production since 2000. It is on the surface a coupe version of the older Elise model, although both are still in production today.

Lotus Elise

The Elise has a longer history than the Exige, being developed and released in 1996. This two seat, rear wheel drive roadster features the engine near the center of the vehicle. The hand finished fiberglass shell is bonded to an aluminum chassis which keeps the weight to a minimum.

The Differences between the Lotus Exige & Elise Models

Although very similar in design, the Elise is considered to be less powerful, slightly heavier and somewhat less expensive than the faster, more extreme Exige version. In addition, the Exige version features a fixed roof, rear spoiler and additional aero attachments for a sportier look.

The Impact of Carbon Fiber Auto Parts on the Lotus Exige & Elise

One of the most influential design aspects on Lotus vehicles as well as all automotive designs over the past decade has been the influence of advanced carbon fiber technology. Carbon fiber is essentially strands of carbon that are bonded together using the new twill weave design. This creates exceptional strength, durability and impact resistance to the original and aftermarket parts for vehicles.

Carbon fiber auto parts are generally more than twice as strong as their steel counterparts, yet they weigh less than 1/4th the amount. In addition, carbon fiber is more impact resistant as well, making it the perfect replacement or aftermarket parts for all types of vehicles and in particular high performance autos such as the Lotus Exige & Elise.

Scopione carbon fiber parts are available for both Lotus models as well as a host of other makes and models of vehicles. The following list includes, but is not limited to, carbon fiber parts that are available for the Lotus Exige & Elise.

Air Scoop Duct

Front Side Fender

Front Lip & Rear Lip

Front Hood Panel

Interior Dash Panel

Interior Door Panel

Pedal Sets

Pin Stripe

Rear Diffuser

Side Door Mirror Covers

Trunk Wing Spoiler & More

The style, quality, class and performance of the Lotus Exige & Elise make them two of the most popular vehicles in the Lotus family. The addition of carbon fiber parts lightens the weight which in turn creates greater speed, and handing. From pinstrip, air scoops, eyelids and more, carbon fiber parts are essential to improving the overall performance of the Lotus Exige & Elise
