BMW 3 Series

The BMW 3 Series is one of the most successful lines of vehicles from BMW. First released in May, 1975, the BMW 3 Series has undergone six different generations and five different body styles that reflect upon the success of it being the best selling model in BMW history. Over 30% of the company sales come from the BMW 3 Series and it has won innumerable awards.

Across six generations of vehicles, there have been a number of different body types from coupe, sedan, convertible and hatchback, and wagon have been a part of the celebrated 3 Series.

History of the BMW 3 Series

This particular series was first developed in the aftermath of the 1973 Oil Crisis when the E21 was first released and it single-handedly doubled the sales figures for BMW over the next three years. The E21 went on to sell for eight years and was quickly followed by a succeeding series of BMW vehicles in the same class.

Today, the sixth generation of the BMW 3 Series is certainly making its mark with high quality vehicles that get good gas mileage, have excellent features and are quite affordable as well. Celebrated members of this series include the following;

BMW 3 Series E90, E91,E92, E93: 2006 - 2011: saloon, sports wagon, coupe & convertible

BMW 3 Series F30 & F31: 2012 - Present: saloon & sports wagon series

Generally speaking, each of the 3 Series vehicles sported a four or six cylinder engine, featured the distinctive exterior of the BMW line, albeit in smaller form and had the expected interior luxury that was expected of such models.

BMW 3 Series and Carbon Fiber Technology
