Few can argue the success of the Yamaha line of motorcycles. Over the years, Yamaha continued to produce two-stroke engine motorcycles until 1969 with the advent of the XS-1, a 650 cc two-cylinder four-stroke engine. The growth of Yamaha motorcycles with larger frames and engines coincided with their ascent into the world market. By the mid-1990s, Yamaha created the Star Motorcycles brand for their cruiser series of bikes for the American market. Today, Yamaha creates scooters and motorcycles of different sizes and models for the world market.
