Nissan GT-R Edition

One vehicle that is making a big splash in Japan is the new 2014 Nissan GT-R Track Edition, a souped-up, fast and versatile sports car that is certainly turning heads among those anticipating its release. A powerful contrast to the gas-friendly Versas models Nissan has been pushing. The GT-R is a coupe that exudes power and performance in a small, sports coupe. Although a little pricey compared to the immediate competition, such as the Chevy Camaro ZL1, the Nissan GT-R offers plenty of features that will certainly attract those who have a need for speed and performance.

Advances for the 2014 GT-R Track Edition

The GT-R is certainly a well-known edition to the Nissan line having been introduced back in 2009. However, the new Track Edition offers some interesting changes and upgrades from previous models. No longer featured are the “Mini-Me” rear seats. Instead, a pair of quilted, fabric-covered bins rest in its place. Other new features include the following; Front & Rear Brake-Cooling Air Channel, Front & Rear Spoilers,Improved Springs, Modified Bilsteins, New Fabric Covered Front Seats, and Six-Spoke RAYS Forged-Aluminum Wheels.

The new front and rear spoilers are fashioned from carbon fiber to increase impact resistance and lower the overall weight of the vehicle. However, the horsepower, gearing, tires and torque remain the same from the previous models and the engine bay remains the same general size. So, does this new Track Edition meet and exceed the value of its price?

The Addition of New Carbon Fiber Parts

One of the most interesting new additions is carbon fiber technology which has created stronger, yet lighter weight parts for this vehicle. Some of the new carbon fiber parts which will be available on the new GT-R Track Edition include the following; Side Fender Grille, Top Hood Vents Scoop, Interior Dash Panels Covere, Rear Bumper Diffuser Lip, Side Skirt Kick Panel, Side View Door Mirror, and Rear Boot Trunk Spoiler. These new additions will make the GT-R Track Edition lighter, thus providing more power, speed, handling and overall performance.

The Speed of the GT-R Track Edition

Testing has shown that this new model can race from 0 to 60 mph in just under 3 seconds, over a full second better than its Camaro ZL1 counterpart. Plus, it is a measurable improvement from last years GT-R model as well. Boasting 545 hp, all-wheel drive, six-speed dual-clutch transmission, limited slip differential, and an almost 50/50 front-to-rear weight balance, the new GT-R Track Edition is certainly one of the most impressive of the new line of releases for next year. The lightning-quick shifting, incredible acceleration and overall speed and handling make this one of the most exciting new vehicles to own. In addition, the Track Edition includes new brake-cooling ducts which correct one of the issues from previous models and allow the brakes to last longer without any dip in performance.

For those who are interested in keeping up with the cutting edge of technology, the new 2014 Nissan GT-R Track Edition is certainly one of the best models in that line.
