About Lotus

One of the most recognizable names in automotive manufacturing, Lotus has established itself as a premiere, high performance auto manufacturer. Combining the essence of power, performance, and style, the Lotus is certainly one of the most remarkable brands when it comes to creating autos of exceptional quality. The Lotus Engineering Ltd. Was formed by two engineers in London in 1952. The letters A, C, B, and C that are part of the logo are the initials of the company founder, Anthony Colin Bruce Chapman. Starting their first factory in old stables behind the Railway Hotel in North London, the Lotus Group of Companies, which was eventually formed in 1959, focused on Formula One, road cars and customer competition vehicles.

Since 1966, Lotus has been manufacturing their vehicles in a modern factory in Hethel, the site of a former RAF air base. The company actually uses some of the old runway as a test track. As with many manufacturers of high performance vehicles, Lotus underwent a tumultuous time during the 1970s and early 80s. However, new agreements with Toyota and the formation of an American company, Lotus Performance Cars Inc. helped bolster sales and introduced new lines of vehicles into the world market. Today, Lotus is well known for creating such vehicle lines as the Exige, Exige X, Elise, and Evora. Each line of remarkable high performance vehicles represents the best in British engineering along with significant advancements in technology.

Advancement of Carbon Fiber Technology

As with many high performance vehicles, the Lotus has benefited from the addition of Lotus Accessories and Parts in carbon fiber auto custom products. Carbon fiber is a lightweight material that has come into favor over the past decade thanks to the twill weave process. Carbon fiber auto parts are generally twice as strong as their steel counterparts, yet they have less than 1/4th the weight. Here are just some of the different types of carbon fiber parts that are available for the Lotus and other performance vehicles as well; Air Scoop Duct Intake, Air Intake Box Scoop, Side Mirror Covers Shells, Interior Console Dash Panel, Interior Door Panel, Side Door Pillar Panels, Rear Trunk Spoiler Lip, Rear Boot Spoiler Wing, Engine Bay Cover Panels, Rear Bumper Diffuser Lip plus many more. In addition, Lotus aftermarket parts are highly valued as these vehicles are driven and cherished for many years. Many Lotus owners add their own touches to the vehicle, such as pin stripe designs or including optional advances in technology. When it comes to the ultimate in style, performance, speed and power, the Lotus name still stands at the top.
