About BMW

The Bayerische Motoren Werke AG, otherwise known as BMW, is one of the most recognizable acronyms in the automotive industry. Founded in 1916, BMW has progressed considerably over the years to become one of the premiere makers of automobiles in the world today, particularly in the field of luxury autos. BMW is one of the top best selling luxury auto makers in the world today. Currently, BMW produces luxury autos, Mini-cars, sedans, coupes, Formula One cars, and is the parent company of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars. Furthermore, under the BMW Motorrad division, they also produce a number of motorcycles as well. Today, BMW vehicles can be found all over the world, including BMW of America.

The company began during World War One creating aircraft engines, but was soon prohibited from continuing that line of production because of the Treaty of Versailles which ended the war. For the next decade BMW produced only motorcycles until the late 1920s when the opened up their manufacturing to include automobiles. The first vehicle BMW ever produced was called the Dixi and was based on the famous Austin 7 auto and was actually licensed by the Austin Motor Company in England. The 1930s saw a return to producing aircraft engines as the Second World War approached. Until 1945, BMW produced a number of aircraft engines, including the “emergency” fighter, the jet-powered Heinkel HE 162. BMW continued to manufacture aircraft engines until 1959, when a downturn in finances and the boom in sale of automobiles resulted in a shift of emphasis to creating high quality cars. This turn of events led to BMW expanding their brand to the world of automobiles where it has never looked back.

Over the past half-century, BMW has created a number of high quality vehicles that feature the classic style of the BMW line. The style and luxury of many BMW vehicles reflect the high quality of materials and design. However, BMW has also kept up with current trends as well, creating smaller vehicles with a greater emphasis on fuel economy, modern style and enhanced performance. From their smaller lines of vehicles to SUVs, station wagons and all-wheel drive models, BMW has managed to keep its vaunted place as one of the best auto manufacturers in the world. In addition, BMW is also advancing technology that is cutting down on the weight while increasing power and performance as well.

Advancement of Carbon Fiber Technology

Like other auto manufacturers, BMW has taken advantage of the advancements of carbon fiber technology and incorporated them into several of their vehicle lines. And now with the help of our BMW Accessories and Parts, such as the Front Kidney Grilles Set, Automatic Pedal Set Kit, Manuel Pedal Set Full Kit, Air Scoop Duct Intake, Eye Lids & Eyebrows, Mirror Covers Shells covers, Side Door Pillars Panel, Rear Trunk Spoiler Lip, Rear Roof Visor Spoiler, Rear Boot Wing Spoiler, Rear Bumper Diffuser Lip, plus more. Carbon fiber is a product that when cured is twice as strong as steel, yet only 1/4th the weight. Plus, carbon fiber is more impact resistant than steel, allowing for higher speed impacts that result in little to no damage as compared to the steel counterparts. Currently, BMW is releasing new model lines, the M3 and M4 to name just two that feature carbon fiber parts which lower the overall weight while delivering greater performance, handling and speed to the vehicles. BMW continues to lead the field in creating high quality vehicles using the latest materials.
