About Audi

The Audi is one the most recognizable names in European auto manufacturing. Best known for producing luxury automobiles, Audi has a well established reputation for quality, style and surprising affordability for the types of vehicles that they produce. The name “Audi” is an unusual one as it is not German, but Latin in origin. In 1910, owner August Horch held a meeting to decide the name of the company when his son, who was studying Latin, spoke up and suggested “Audi” because it meant “to listen”. The name was quickly adopted and Audi began producing vehicles of many different types and styles.

The origins of Audi go back well into the 19th century when in 1885 an automotive firm called Wanderer was established, a company that soon became a branch of Audi. Over the ensuing years, other companies such as NSU merged into Audi and by 1910 the first official vehicle under the Audi name came into being, the Type A Sport-Phaeton. Over the next 30 years, Audi merged with other companies to form Auto Union and by World War 2, the very name “Audi” disappeared for the next twenty five years until the mid-1960s when it returned to be featured on simple, two-stroke engine models in association with Volkswagen. By the early 1970s, the Audi line became more popular as the production switched to emphasize more high performance vehicles.

Today, the Audi line featured many successful models over the years, helping to establish the company’s reputation for delivering sharp, high performance autos. Some of the more successful models include, but are not limited to, the following; A1 (8x), A3 (8p), S3 (8P), A4 (8K), A6 (4G), A7 (4G), A8 (4H), S4 (8K), A5 (8T), S5 (8T), S8 (4G), R8, Q3, Q5, Q7, TT Coupe & TT Roadster. Each of these vehicles includes Audi Accessories and Parts with optional features such as pin stripe, and utilizing carbon fiber parts.

The Impact of Carbon Fiber Technology on Audi

The advancement of carbon fiber technology has had a considerable impact on the Audi line. Carbon fiber automotive and aftermarket parts are generally twice as strong as steel, yet weight less than 1/4th the amount thanks to the twill weave construction. Some of the carbon fiber parts available for the Audi line and other vehicles include; Air Scoop Duct Grille, Air Intake Box Scoop, Front Hood Grille, Eye Lids & Eyebrows, Mirror Covers Shells, Interior Dash Panel, Interior Door Panel, Door Pillars Panel, Roof Visor Spoiler, Trunk Spoiler Lip, Engine Bay Cover, Rear Bumper Spoiler, Rear Bumper Diffuser. Carbon fiber auto parts have only added to the power, performance, style and overall quality of the Audi line of coupe and sedan models that still are at the forefront of automotive design.
